Some peolpe say that golf is a sport for old men and loners, but if you're rreading this then you probably aren't one of those people, so i commend you and thank you for reading this little section.

Build Up

The build up to the ryder cup is well under way with only days left till the event, tension is building on both sides, who will win? I won't be able to answer that question until the event is over, but if i had to put good money on it, then i would say Europe. The odds are heavily weighted in their favour, they have won 7 of the last 10 ryder cups and are currently favourites at about 4/5, which anyone can tell you is pretty high, but this may be a bad thing for the europeans, as it has been said many times that pressure is one thing that the europeans, notably those from britain, can't handle. The few wins by the europeans in the majors has brought people to this conclusion , as the groudwork is there with great players and numerous wins under their belts, but the pressure is too much with people expecting them to win. Take Segio Garcia at the open as an example, no one expected him to do well at the start of the tournament, but when he's a few shots off the lead in the final round and the public expects him to make a decent effort to pip Tiger at the post, although that's more than difficult, he fluffs it and goes out of contention. But when he gets there and is long out of it, he post a few good numbers on the scoreboard and gets a proper round going, which is not what we need in the Ryder Cup, with the last win being our biggest ever.

But for now i sit and wait to cheer for the europeans in what will most probably a most prolific tournament at the K club, designed by nine other than Arnold Palmer, alegend of his time.
